We Get It

Nobody plans to need a panel beater

One minute the car's fine. The next there's a crumpled guard in a car park, a WOF fail over rust you never saw, or an insurance claim you don't know how to start. It's stressful, it's inconvenient, and you just want someone who'll tell you straight and fix it properly.

“Will it look factory again?”

Computerised colour matching and an in-house bake booth — not a once-over with a rattle can.

“Will the insurance be a hassle?”

We deal directly with the assessors. You bring the claim number; we handle the back-and-forth.

“How do I get around meanwhile?”

Courtesy cars are available so your day doesn't stop while your vehicle's with us.

John Rengelink in the Higgins Panel and Paint workshop

Our Story

That's where we come in

Higgins Panel and Paint opened its doors in Frankton in 1974 — and we're still on the same Ellis Street site today.

It started the way good workshops do: with a set of tools, an eye for a straight line, and a refusal to hand a car back until it was right. More than fifty years on, that hasn't changed — John Rengelink has since acquired the business in 2023, yet still performs with the same hands-on standards the workshop was built on.

Everything stays in-house, from the first strip-down to the final cut and polish. Cars from the '70s and brand-new Japanese and European models get the same care — because the people doing the work have seen it all, and they take it personally.
